It looks like MyPhone is readying its first octa-core smartphone, to be launched as the MyPhone Infinity. Basing on physical design, its looks like a rebrand of the octa-core Micromax Canvas Knight, which itself is an upcoming device but headed for India.

MyPhone Infinity

What we have above is a photo of the MyPhone Infinity, leaked by a certain Miyer C. Bernabe on Facebook. Only the back of the photo can be seen, but the design on the camera is exactly the same as the Micromax Canvas Knight. For comparison, check out these press release photos (leaked on a Russian forum) of the Canvas Knight. Two light specs at the top edge also match the position of the audio jack and the LED light.

MyPhone Infinity - Canvas Knight

As we wait for an official announcement (and teasers), we can only speculate on what the MyPhone Infinity will offer by referring to what have been leaked about the Micromax Canvas Knight. Specifications include Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, a 5-inch display with Full HD resolution, and an octa-core processor that’s clocked at 2GHz. The brand and model haven’t been specified, but the chip is expected to be the MediaTek MT6592.

Further purported specs consist of 2GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage, and 2350mAh battery. There’s also a 16-megapixel camera at the back, paired with a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter. Connectivity options include 3G, GSM, and Wi-Fi. The Micromax Canvas Knight / MyPhone Infinity will also boast a 7.3mm thin profile.

If the MyPhone Infinity ever gets released in the Philippines (February is almost over, so maybe we’ll be seeing a March launch), it will compete with the likes of other local octa-smartphones: Starmobile Diamond X1, Cherry Mobile Cosmos Z2, and THL T100 (Monkey King 2). They each have their own strengths and drawbacks as seen in our specs showdown.

    1. Agree..My OMEGA HD 2.0 is on par with my Note 2 kung endurance race ang pinag-uusapan sa identical tasks, did a Lot of testing and they are really even! that’s like 3100 mAh vs 2100 mAh…

I might stick to my OHD 2 for a while as well

  1. If its between 12-15k, international brand offerings are near and have better choices… besides, octacore processor is just hypes currently.. most apps arent design for it yet. better GPU, LTE, external mem, Glonas, nfc, removable batt, etc offerings from other brands that have nearer costs are wiser choice…
