A video of the the LG Wing dual-screen phone has surfaced on Android Authority. The video shows that the phone uses two displays, one appears to swivel sideways of the other. Its main display shows the user navigating, while the other one was playing music via media player but stopped when a call came in.

Despite the challenge the company had in terms of shrinking market share and dwindling sales, the South Korean tech giant has never relented. LG in its recently released sales report had a loss in the mobile communications sector of about $200 million (KRW 237.8 billion) in Q1 of 2020.

Kwon Bong-Seok, LG’s new CEO, in an interview with The Korea Times earlier this year, promised a comeback and return to profitability by 2021 for LG’s mobile division. He reveals that LG Electronics will be expanding  their mobile lineup with constant introduction of new ones attached with some wow factors to attract consumers.

LG launched the Velvet 5G smartphone some few days ago, marking a new drive with a philosophy of different design, value conscious competitive components and initiatives for enhanced online sales. While the review was yet to come on the Velvet, LG was reported to be working on another device with dual screen. This time the main display will swivel sideways to show the secondary display.

The smartphone dubbed as ‘Wing’ according to reports from Korea, will sport a 6.8-inch main display paired with a smaller 4-inch display. It will also have an optimised multimedia experience for games and videos.

But this is not the first time a smartphone will have a swivel design, as the company has previously launched devices with similar design. It is interesting to note that the phone second display will allow users to do editing while running some other functions on the main screen.

Apart from the dual screen design, the processor of the LG Wing is expected to be a mid-range Snapdragon 7-series, with support for 5G just like the Velvet. It will most likely have a triple-rear camera setup with a 64 megapixel primary sensor.

The upcoming LG Wing, going by the reports, will have a price tag of about $817 (~Php40,000) when it will be launched later this year.
