Canalys’s list of top smartphone vendors in the Philippines Q2 2021 will make fans of Realme and Xiaomi very happy.
Realme retains its position as the top smartphone vendor in the Philippines for Q2 2021, after claiming the same spot in Q1 2021. The brand owns 26% of the phones sold from April to June with an annual growth of 51%.
The company’s success could be attributed to a couple of value-oriented phones they released on the said quarter.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi leaped to the third spot with a whopping annual growth of 318% — the highest on the list. The achievement could be credited to the Mi phones launched in the said quarter. That includes the Mi 11 Lite, Note 10 5G, POCO M3 Pro, and others.
Xiaomi’s numbers could go higher as they bring bang-for-the-buck smartphones like the POCO X3 GT this Q3.
Sadly, prominent brands have experienced negative annual growth for the previous quarter. Vivo, despite having a 19% market share and taking the second spot, recorded a growth of -4%. Samsung also stayed at the fourth spot with -33%, while OPPO fell at the fifth spot with -28% growth.
