Over the past few years, charging speeds have become a crucial battleground for manufacturers. While the intense competition over wired charging solutions has slowed down recently, it hasn’t completely stopped. Fresh rumors from China suggest that realme is gearing up to introduce its 300W wired fast charging technology.
This development comes on the heels of a similar announcement by Redmi last February 2023. At that time, Redmi claimed its 300W system could charge a 4,100mAh battery from 0 to 100% in as fast as 5 minutes. However, despite the excitement generated by such claims, more than a year has passed without any Redmi smartphone actually utilizing this groundbreaking technology.
realme’s anticipated announcement is expected to follow a similar pattern—a “technology showcase” rather than immediate implementation in consumer devices. This cautious approach seems sensible given the complexities and potential risks associated with ultra-fast charging technologies.

Unlike other brands who became contented in the 100W to 120W range, realme has been slowly inching closer to the 300W milestone, with its most recent achievement being a 240W wired charging solution featured in the GT Neo 5 and GT5.
Adding to the anticipation, sources indicate that realme’s rumored GT7 Pro will also get an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and IP69 rating for dust and water resistance.
