SKK Mobile has posted on its official Facebook page a new dual-core Android phone for only Php3,999. Known as the Mirage S1, it comes with a dual-core mobile processor, 5-inch display, and dual-SIM capability.

The SKK Mobile Mirage S1 looks a lot like the HTC One. With the curved edges and dual front-facing speakers seemingly imitated down to the last detail, perhaps the only differences are the placing of the front camera—the Mirage S1’s is on the left side, while HTC One has it on the right—and the missing proximity sensor.

Allegations of ripping off HTC’s flagship’s design aside, the SKK Mobile Mirage S1 offers a 5-inch LCD display (most likely using the older TFT variant instead of IPS), a dual-core processor that’s clocked at 1.2GHz, and 512MB of RAM. The rear camera has a 5-megapixel resolution, paired with a 0.3MP (VGA) front-facing shooter. Connectivity options include 3G, Bluetooth, GPS, and Wi-Fi.

SKK Mobile Mirage S1 specs

Available internal storage is only 4GB, actually even less when you consider the pre-installed apps. To make do for such shortcoming, the SKK Mobile Mirage S1 has an expandable external memory of up to 32GB via the microSD slot. Running on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the handset sports a dual-SIM configuration to accommodate two SIM cards. SKK Mobile has kept mum about the other technical specs, and so we’ll update this post once we learn some more.

Sold for Php3,999, the Mirage S1 is one of SKK Mobile’s entry-level smartphones for users who are new to the Android platform. It is already available in accredited dealers and concept stores across the country.

  1. Bought the red one. not bad. love that it had mali 400 GPU. and the MTK mt6572 is a battery saver. camera and flash is mediocre though. hope we get root and recovery for this phone.

  2. Ok I have already bought the device mirage s1
Battery: 1700 mah (but surpisingly, after moderate use of 10 hours, there is still 30 to 40 percent battery left. significantly better than my flare 1.0….i have also observed that when in standby it only burned 1% of battery per hour…100% to 99 %after an hour. Take note, only one sim is used because i think the other sim is a micro sim)
    i think its a mediatek
screen is ok but youtube videos tend to be pixelated a little
viewing angles are okay if right or left but colors are inverted if up and down ( especially up)
    really smooth

    1. I agree, especially about the battery life. I like it, so far. Bought one, too. Though I had to cut my other sim card to fit into the micro sim slot, I’m very satisfied with Mirage S1’s dual 3g capability since I tend to use mobile internet more frequently than Wi-Fi.

  3. Between this and the torque avatar, i’ll choose this because of the form factor. But if the screen resolution is below 190 ppi (or at least 160ppi) then i’ll have a hard time choosing. Mirage’s front-firing speakers are unique and should be the right placement ( ala HTC One hehehe, while Avatar is ala S4 or note3 ?)

  4. Torque just responded with it’s own 5incher, the Avatar TV. For the exact same price. The TV feature is a big plus. I’m still concerned about two things I had with SKK Mirage – washing out & SD installs.

  5. Wooo, a 5 incher with pricing straight out of CM. Tempting, yes. But first things first: 1. How bad does the screen wash out? 2. Does it allow direct to SD installs. I’m not so worried about the ROM & RAM. My Blaze 1.0 has the same and i’ve managed to fill it with apps and play games like DT. Pls review asap!
