Market analytics firm Counterpoint Research has published a report on the fastest-growing smartphone brands in Southeast Asia and the smartphone shipments performance of each country in the region for the third quarter of 2023.
The report reveals that iPhones have soared as Apple’s shipments were up 19% compared to the same quarter last year. This is all thanks to the strong demand for the last two iPhone series and the new iPhone 15 models.
Transsion is experiencing the best quarter as all of its three brands have staggering YoY growth: Infinix with 42%, TECNO with 148%, and itel with 17%.

Xiaomi is also up by 7% YoY thanks to entry-level devices like the Redmi 12 series, and better promotions and launches than most of the competition.
Meanwhile, the other brands experienced disappointing performance for the quarter. Samsung, while on top with a 21% market share, had a -7% YoY growth. OPPO and vivo is at -19% and -16%, respectively, while realme landed flat.

Moving on, Counterpoint reports that the majority of SEA countries experienced improvements in Q3 2023 after a substantial decline the quarter after. Still, the research firm says that they “foresee a YoY decline of about 8% for the region in 2023” on an annual level.
