The Ayala-led listed energy company disclosed to the Philippine Stock Exchange the start of the new 300-megawatt solar farm. ACEN also noted that Zambales is one of the Philippines’ highest irradiance zones, boasting abundant clean energy prospects for the company.
The Palauig 2 solar farm, situated in close proximity to the existing Palauig 1, is set to expand ACEN’s energy portfolio in the Philippines. This new facility is also anticipated to have a positive impact on the region’s energy supply.

ACEN’s solar power project is projected to generate an estimated 450GWh of clean energy per annum, which combined with the 90GWh generated by Palauig 1, is sufficient to provide sustainable power to approximately 139,000 households while also eliminating 350,000 tons of carbon emissions each year.
By 2030, the Philippines is aiming to have 35% of its electricity generated from renewable sources. This target is part of the country’s commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible energy production.
