Not only did HMD Global revived Nokia by launching appealing and value-oriented smartphones, but the company is trying to be the good guy by continually providing updates to the devices under its name.

A company representative promised that all of the Nokia smartphones that were developed under their umbrella will be getting the highly-anticipated Android P update once it becomes available later this year.

And by “all”, HMD Global means that the Android P update will be available from the Nokia 1, the cheapest smartphone they made, up to their current flagship, the Nokia 8 Sirocco.

We also expect the update to arrive on their newly released entry-level smartphones. This includes the new Nokia 2.1, Nokia 3.1, and the Nokia 5.1.

This move from HMD Global and Nokia isn’t really surprising at all. If you remember, these companies already promised an Android Oreo update to their devices when the software was announced last year.

This is said to be a part of the company’s “pure, secure, and up-to-date” motto. All of HMD Global’s Nokia smartphones run on stock Android and are inevitably secure as they are always updated with the latest version.

Hopefully, more and more smartphone manufacturers would follow this kind of mantra.
