Apple has officially classified the iPhone X, Airpods gen 1, and HomePods as ‘vintage’ products, marking their transition from current to legacy status within the company’s product lineup.

“Vintage” products are Apple releases that have been officially unavailable in the market for over five (5) years or less than seven (7) years.

The iPhone X, which was released in November 2017, was one of Apple’s first smartphones to feature an edge-to-edge display and facial recognition technology. Despite being replaced by newer models, the iPhone X remains a popular choice among consumers for its design and features.

Similarly, the AirPods, Apple’s first-generation wireless earbuds, have now been classified as vintage. These earbuds revolutionized the audio industry with their seamless connectivity and compact design. While newer generations of AirPods have since been released, the Gen 1 model still holds a special place in the hearts of many Apple enthusiasts.

The HomePod, Apple’s smart speaker, have also been designated as vintage products. Launched in February 2018, the HomePods offered high-quality audio playback and integration with Apple’s ecosystem of devices.

Also included in the list are the Series 1 and 2 versions of Apple Watch, along with the Beats Pro and X.

While these products are now classified as vintage, Apple will continue to provide hardware support for devices up to 7-years-old, although parts availability may vary. However, with the focus shifting towards newer products, users of these vintage devices may need to consider upgrading to more recent models in the future.
