ASUS Philippines finally has a launch date for the new ROG Ally X.
In a teaser video on the ASUS Republic of Gamers Facebook page, the company announced that “Your Next Ally” will launch this August 23, 2024. By then, we shall have the official availability dates, the variants, their prices, and freebies if there are any.
For those who haven’t heard, the successor to the first ROG Ally is officially called the ASUS ROG Ally X and was introduced at COMPUTEX 2024 in Taiwan in June.
The overall design and footprint are the same, but with a couple of much-needed improvements. For starters, it now has an 80Wh battery, which is double than the 40Wh from its predecessor.
It also has twice the storage capacity with its 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD. ASUS has also made it easier to upgrade the storage as it uses the standard M.2 2280 drive. The RAM is also bigger and faster as it’s now a 24GB 7500MHz module.
ASUS also improved the cooling system which now offers 10% better airflow and has slimmer fans. They have also polished the design with more curves to make it more comfortable to hold, better joysticks that last longer and give better feedback, an improved D-pad, and a fingerprint scanner that’s easier to find.
We’ll have all the local availability details of the new ASUS ROG Ally X on the 28th, so stay tuned for that.
