Sony has released a new professional camera for those who want to improve their vlogging content. Check out the new Sony ZV-E1, which is the first in the series to come with a full-frame sensor.

The new Sony ZV-E1 uses the same 12-megapixel full-frame sensor that the A7S III and FX3 have. That sure is one high-quality sensor with impressive low-light performance. Plus 15+ stops of dynamic range.

All the photos and videos shot will go through the same BIONZ ZR image processor. That said, you can expect similar quality from this vlogging camera to some of Sony’s more professional shooters.

Still, it has a few limitations, like the max video recording of 4K 60fps with 10-bit color and 4:2:2. Albeit, Sony did promise a 4K 120fps support in a future software update.

This one also lacks the complex heat management system that the other bigger cameras have. Plus, it only has a single SD card slot and uses a mini HDMI port. Clearly, it’s not meant for professional users, but for those who want a simple and easy-to-use camera that could provide professional-looking results.

Made for newbies, the ZV-E1 is much lighter and easier to operate with buttons and rings to easily control the camera. It even has AI human recognition to more efficiently keep subjects in focus.

It also has an auto-framing feature that crops the image so the subject stays in the frame even when moving. Plus, an Auto Microphone directivity that can detect who’s talking in the frame and Framing Stabilizer. The new camera also has Sony’s latest Dynamic Active Mode stabilization that’s 30% more effective in reducing shaky footage.

The new Sony ZV-E1 has a starting price of USD2,199 (~Php119,700) for the body only while the one with a 28-60mm f/4.5-5.6 zoom kit lens costs USD2,499 (~Php135,900). Prices in the Philippines are yet to be announced.
