Game of Thrones Season 8 is nearing its return to our TV screens!

After a long television hiatus that saw the last episode of Season 7 being aired back in August 2017; a new trailer has been dropped a month before the debut of Game of Thrones Season 8 on April 14, 2019. To exactly show how long it’s been without GoT, it’s been approximately one year and six months since the last episode was aired!

The six-episode final season is expected to feature the biggest and longest battle ever seen in any Movie or TV Show. It’s apparently even longer than the 40-minute Helm’s Deep siege from the Lord of the Rings – Two Towers!

The new trailer helped us get a taste on what to expect at the start of Season 8. We can see Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen together at Winterfell, preparing for a massive attack from the Army of White Walkers and the Night King. Cersei also made an appearance in the trailer and is looking very sinister as always.

Arya can also be seen looking very scared and is hastily running around, as if it was the only way to save her life. One can only imagine what she is running away from. Could it be White Walkers or even the Mountain? I can’t seem to fathom the fact that the badass Arya is running around very scared, but to be realistic she would be just a teenager around this time and being in her position would surely be scary.

Around the 1:17 mark we can also hear Jaime talking with someone about his decision to join the fight against the dead, even though it’s against Cersei’s wishes. This is another example of the evolution of Jaime’s character. Admit it, us viewers, we’re all annoyed at Jaime during the earlier seasons.

The trailer ends with the undead finally making its way into Winterfell and is greeted by the living. A fitting end to a highly anticipated trailer.

I still have a lot of questions left unanswered after watching the trailer and I’m pretty sure most of you do as well. These include; how did Lord Beric and Tormund survive? Is Sansa okay with the arrival of Daenerys? Will Jon and Dany ride the Dragons into battle together? I guess we’ll have to wait to find out.
