GrabPets-Philippines

Grab Philippines is launching two new services in the country: the GrabPet and GrabFamily.

With GrabPet, passengers can now travel with their pets. This is under the Memorandum circular 2019-019 that allows pets to ride public utility vehicles (PUV).

However, this service is only available in 6-seater rides. Also, Grab drivers will also get additional earnings if they accept rides like these, which means that the fares might be higher than usual. However, those drivers who agreed to be part of the GrabPet service can never decline any GrabPet bookings.

Grab Philippines will be providing drivers with pet kennels, waterproof cargo, and a pet barrier. But, it’s worth noting that leashes and other transport materials will be provided by the passenger. Also, the service will be only available in select pets as of the moment. You can see the list below.

Allowed pets in Grab Pet

  • Dogs — Leashed or crated (with muzzle)
  • Cats, Guinea Pigs, Hamsters, Rabbits — Crated
  • Fish — Sealed bag, closed fish tank
  • Turtles — Closed container

GrabFamily-Philippines

Another service introduced is GrabFamily. This is in accordance with the Republic Act No. 11229 a.k.a the Child Safety and Motor Vehicle Act, which ensures the safety of children 12yrs and below while being transported.

Just like GrabPet, this service is exclusive to 6-seater cabs. Drivers are also subjected to child safety training and will be provided with special equipment that will help them give better service.

These include a child seat, baby wipes, alcohol, emesis bag, and tissue bags. All of these will be provided by Grab themselves.

Grab said that they are still in talks with the LTFRB for the official pricing of GrabFamily. For now, passengers will be paying the standard 6-seater GrabCar fare.
