Huawei jumps to the 25th spot in the Brand Finance Global 500 list for 2018

Huawei is on the roll in the last few years and the company impressively improved its standing in the Brand Finance Global list for this year.

The said list has pretty strict selection criteria. Brand Finance, a brand value and strategy consulting firm, will assess thousands of prominent brands around the world. They will then rank them based on their Brand Strength Index (BSI), brand loyalty, investment in marketing and more.

And based on that criteria, Huawei was able to secure the 25th spot on the 500 list. That’s a huge leap from the 40th place they had last year, and the 47th spot they had the year before that.

In 2018, Huawei is valued at USD38.046 billion. That’s a 51% improvement from their last year’s USD25.230 billion value.

With that, Huawei was able to overtake other tech brands like IBM which is at the 32nd spot, YouTube at the 42nd, and Intel at the 53rd seat.

Unsurprisingly, the list was also dominated by technology companies. The top 5 seats were occupied by Amazon, Apple, Google, Samsung, and Facebook — in the exact order.

This success from Huawei can be attributed to the popularity and success of their products like the Nova 2i and the Mate 10. Huawei is also scoring some chunks of cash from their networking and IT business just like their recent partnership with PLDT.

However, we are curious to see how their problems penetrating in the US soil would affect their business.
