Huawei has been active in diversifying its portfolio recently since the company experienced the brunt of the US government’s trade sanctions, which displays the giant company’s willingness to stay in business.

According to a report, the Chinese company is seeking to venture into electric vehicles under its own brand, with early models ready for launch even before the years ends. Meaning, that despite the turmoil that the company is put into, it has been hard at work at designing its new product.

Head of Huawei’s consumer business group and the man behind Huawei’s successful rise in the smartphone business, Richard Yu, is reportedly shifting his attention towards EVs with the intent of selling them to mass market.

An endeavor that it cannot perform by itself, Huawei is said to be in the talks with business names in the automotive industry, such as the state-owned Changan Automobile, BAIC Group’s BluePark New Energy Technology, and others, in order to kickstart the venture.
