Huawei owes their success to their fans and those who actually bought their products. So, the company is giving back by delivering continuous software updates.

Last month, Huawei sent the P10 and P10 Plus its much-awaited Android Oreo update. That’s Huawei’s flagship of 2017. But now, Huawei is stepping it up further as they announced seven more smartphones from the past.

The list includes the Huawei Mate 8, Huawei P9, and the Huawei P9 Plus. Some of their offerings under their Honor brand is also getting the upgrade namely; the Honor 8, Honor Note 8, Honor V8 and Honor 6X.

With the Android 8.0 Oreo update, these smartphones will also get to taste Huawei’s new EMUI 8.0 interface.  This means that they will be equipped with new AI capabilities (if supported) that will bring new features and overall better performance optimizations.

Additionally, the Oreo update will bring new features like notification dots that lets you see if you got a new notification right from the app icon itself. There’s also Picture-In-Picture so you can watch videos while doing other tasks, auto-fill passwords for better multi-account management, and so much more.

With this move, Huawei can hopefully help Android increase the numbers of devices running on Android Oreo which is struggling with its slow growth.

The Android Oreo beta version for these devices started rolling out in China. Once it completes initial public testing, the update will be scheduled for a global release.
