Huawei just went full-on beast mode when they launched the P20 Pro with its triple Leica rear cameras. Being the first to perfect the implementation, we were already expecting that the competition will follow suit. And apparently, Apple might also join in the party.
This information came from a research note from Jeff Pu, an analyst from Yuanta Securities. According to Pu, there’s a huge probability that Apple will launch a triple rear camera iPhone by 2019. There’s no specific date, but judging by their previous releases, we expect it to come in the third next year.
But other than that, Jeff Pu has no further details about the this highly-anticipated iPhone. However, a previous report suggests that the camera setup will have up to 5x optical zoom — more than twice the zooming-in capability of the iPhone X.

It is also rumored that a 12-megapixel sensor will be part of the triad. But other than that, your guesses are as good as ours.
But what we are definitely sure about is — if a triple rear camera iPhone becomes a reality — it will be exclusive to the higher-end model. But until then, what we can only do is speculate.
