Infinix-Note-4-update-Android-Oreo-issues-problems

Infinix Mobile has officially released the Android 8.1 update for Infinix Note 4. The update was announced via a Facebook post, which has an ironic “final stable Oreo update” tagline.

In most cases, a software upgrade is a good thing because users will be able to enjoy a newer version of Android. But taking a look at the feedbacks regarding the update say otherwise.

Infinix Note 4 users reported numerous issues ranging from small bugs to huge problems. In fact, most users want to know a way out of this mess, as they are asking everywhere on how they can downgrade their Infinix Note 4 back to Android 7.0 Nougat or whatever version it came out with.

Here are some of the complaints/issues of Infinix Note 4 users running on the new Android 8.1 update:

  • Fast battery drain
  • Very slow charging
  • No notifications
  • Camera flash option not working
  • Ultra power mode removed
  • Screen recording feature gone
  • Scroll shot removed
  • Smart Gestures not working
  • XCharge not supported
  • No music player
  • Overheating
  • Laggy performance
  • App hide feature removed
  • Random freezing
  • Native video calling removed
  • App lock with fingerprint missing
  • Wi-Fi hotspot not working

The advice of Infinix Note 4 users? Don’t update to the latest version (until the issues get fixed). Most of them are still looking for a way or a workaround to their problems. And if you rely on your phone a lot, you don’t want to suffer the same faith as them.

How to fix Infinix Note 4 Android 8.1 Oreo issues?

Luckily, someone found an easy fix to this Infinix Note 4 update mess. If your smartphone still has a warranty, the best way to return to Android Nougat is by sending it back to Infinix service centers. Once the service center downgrades the Infinix Note 4 to Android 7.0 Nougat, all 8.1 Oreo problems will go away and you can use it normally just like before.

Of course, this isn’t the preferred method for everyone as it can be time-consuming. However, Infinix doesn’t have a flashing tool and downloadable stock ROM that users can use to perform the downgrade themselves.

Another option is to try a full factory reset or data wipe to initiate a fresh start. Don’t get your hopes up, though, as it won’t likely do much considering the problems are probably within the firmware itself.

So far, Infinix Mobile hasn’t released any statement and/or software update to address the problems.

  3. i am using Infix Note 4 Pro, i cant make calls, anytime i try it is either no network or network error. People always complained that when they call my phone is always off.

  4. After upgrading to infinixNote4, 8.1oreo version, I noticed that incoming call does NOT ring up to three (3) times before it cuts me up from the caller and error voice message sent to the caller that “The suscriber is not answering”. This can be very embarrasing, I have missed many important calls because of this. Kindly fix this as soon as possible.

  5. after updating my infinix note 4 ..8.1 oreo the caller cannot hear me clearly i tried through sound recorder the same problem coming there. kindly fix this issue.. Calling is the main function if it is not working phone is useless

  6. what happened to My infinix note 4 not charging fast us it has been and the percentage of my battery also not changing

  7. All of the issues in the article are still happening to this date. I continued to use the Oreo but then one day my phone shutdown randomly. Upon restart, I was only able to use it for a few minutes then phone restarted again. After 5 or 6 times happening of random restarted, I decided to factory reset as I thought it will improve speed of device because after Oreo update device was no longer snappy like Nougat.

After factory reset, I got stuck during setup wizard. It will only go 2 or 3 steps during setup then come back to step 1. Eventually, after searching I found out that my issues were not uncommon and many people were suffering from me.

Only solution was to downgrade to Nougat. Now, I have downgraded phone, with Philz recover and SU installed. I have removed all the bloatware of all X apps (like XAccount, XClub, XShare, Xcrap, Xblah, etc).

Device is snappy as cool breeze and I will not update to Oreo until there are confirmed repors that everytihng works.

  8. my mobile opens in oreo (XOS hummingbird) and I cannot get past through after few steps of setting up of android. After connecting to WIFI, i get the option either “start as fresh device” or “copy data/app from other android or iphone or cloud”. but both the option does not work.
