Apple has introduced a brand-new silicon chip. But instead of debuting on a Mac, it arrives with the all-new iPad Pro 2024.
The chip on the new iPad Pro M4 is made out of 3nm technology and provides up to 4x improved 3D render performance, 1.5x 10-core CPU performance, and 1.2x memory bandwidth.
It also has a new GPU that enables hardware-accelerated ray tracing. Plus, it gains a much-anticipated feature: AI capabilities thanks to the more powerful Neural Engine.
Available in 11-inch and 13-inch sizes, they are the first to use Apple’s new Ultra Retina XDR display that offers a much better full-screen brightness. The screen works with the also-new Apple Pencil Pro that you can squeeze to summon shortcuts, has haptic feedback, a gyroscope for better brush stroke recognition, and more.
Despite being the most powerful iPad to date, Apple claims that it’s also its thinnest product ever measuring only 5.3mm for the 13-inch model. It is even about a quarter pound lighter than the last model.
Apple also upgraded the camera system thanks to the four studio-quality microphones for better audio in video recordings. Plus, the 12-megapixel rear camera can take Smart HDR photos, has a True Tone Flash, and can take pictures of documents better thanks to AI.
