DxOMark, an industry pioneer that measures the prowess of different cameras and lenses, hailed both the new iPhone 8 and 8 Plus as the best camera smartphones ever.
DxOMark’s review solely focuses on a smartphone’s camera quality and capabilities. They test everything from its bright light performance, exposure and contrast, bokeh, autofocus, videos, and more.
And right after their review of the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, they came to the conclusion that the duo indeed have the best camera you can find on any smartphone. As of today, the iPhone 8 Plus takes the number one spot of their top ten list with a score of 94. On the other hand, the iPhone 8 was crowned as second-best with a close score of 92.
The two new iPhones dethroned the Google Pixel and HTC U11. The list also shows that iPhone did worked very hard on their new camera sensors as the iPhone 7 Plus and 7 were also at top five and six, respectively.
DxOMark praised the devices’ HDR performance, stabilization, exposure, color rendering, and face tracking. The iPhone 7 Plus’ dual cameras were said to take the best Bokeh in any mobile device today.
