A lot of excitement and anticipation are going around the upcoming iPhone 9. Possibly because of its rumored budget price tag, which will finally give people an affordable iPhone option.
This latest leak suggests that the iPhone 9 will indeed going to be a ‘budget’ smartphone — at least in Apple’s standard.
UPDATE: The Apple iPhone 9 / iPhone SE 2020 is now confirmed.
Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo have predicted before that the iPhone 9 will have a starting price of USD399 (~Php20,200).
A latest report backs up that claim from Kuo, with more sources coming from Apple suppliers that are involved in making the upcoming iPhone.
This will make the iPhone 9 the most affordable iPhone when it launches — even cheaper than the iPhone 8, which currently retails in the Philippines for a starting price of Php30,990.

The iPhone 8 might be discontinued, or at least discounted, once the successor arrives.
But considering how affordable the iPhone 9 is already going to be, it might be logical for Apple to just discontinue the iPhone 8.
Also, we’re almost certain at this point that the iPhone 9 will inherit the same design that the iPhone 8 has. It will then sport the latest hardware that the iPhone 11 series have.

With that, we expect the iPhone 9 to have the latest A13 Bionic chip, which is very powerful for a sub-Php20k smartphone. There’s also the 12-megapixel primary sensor that the iPhone 11 has, albeit we expect Apple to remove the secondary ultra-wide shooter to keep the price down.
