In an unprecedented move, Apple has updated its current MacBook Air models with more RAM capacity — all for the same price.
This could be Apple’s way to make up for not upgrading the MacBook Air to the new M4 chips, or to unify all the Macs and make 16GB the standard base option. As you already know, the company recently announced the refresh of the iMac, Mac Mini, and MacBook Pro, which are now powered by the latest silicon chips.
That said, the updated Airs now come with 16GB of RAM (from 8GB) for all the base models, all for the same price. That’s for the M2 and M3 chip models for the 13-inch and 15-inch.
This is definitely bad news for those who already bought the said MacBook Air models as it will also affect their resell value.
But if you’re only about to get one, this is definitely great news. See the updated variants and their prices below. The prices are based on Apple’s official website.
