It’s normal for a Snapdragon 801-equipped phone to score in excess of 40,000 in Antutu. What isn’t normal is when a MediaTek chip does the same thing. But that’s exactly what happened when a mystery MediaTek MT6595-equipped phone scored 43,000 points in the popular benchmarking app.
The screenshot of the MT6595 Antutu result shows the phone running with 3GB RAM and Android 4.4 KitKat. The chip is shown as a 1.7GHz octa core CPU, however from what we’ve heard so far about the MT6595, we expect it to be a big.LITTLE architecture with four 1.7GHz low power Cortex A7 cores and four additional 2GHz+ Cortex A17 cores.
If this is what we can expect from high end local flagship phones in the near future, then I’d say that international brands will have their work cut out for them. And at this point, the additional LTE support is just frosting on top of the cake. So are you excited for LTE-equipped octa-core phones from local brands that can beat out today’s best flagships?

Pagkatapos itakbo yung Antutu benchmark, lowbatt na daw yung phone. =))
I’d bet $550 it’s a Nexus 6 or even the MyPhone Iceberg II

well the fact that Snapdragon uses A15 based chipsets vs MTK’s a7 and a17 combo will put the Snapdragon 801 or even the 810 to shame :)
Tha snadragon uses Krait 400 cores which started from the Cortex design years ago.
