The Nokia 3210 is possibly one of the most iconic feature phones in the world. Rightfully so as, when it was introduced way back in 1999, it was the first mass-market phone to have the antenna internally.

Now, the Nokia 3210 is finally getting the modern refresh treatment from HMD Global as they’ve started teasing the 2024 version of the 25-year-old classic.

Sadly, the modern version looks very different from the original design. In fact, it looks closer to the also-revived Nokia 6310 2024. For one, the keypad has a call answer and drop buttons, which the original never had, and made the design drastically different.

In HMD’s defense, they did describe the new model as a “pairing of modern redesign with new retro interface.” Hence, it still has some of the original’s classic features, like the built-in Snake game, but will have a slightly unfamiliar design.

The device now also has a camera on the back, which is obviously part of the “modern redesign” that HMD is talking about as it wasn’t found on the original version.

It’s also worth noting that HMD has now included its logo on the back. This should help improve brand recognition, especially now that they have their own branded smartphones, the HMD Pulse series.
