Sonic The Hedgehog has now been confirmed to be delayed for three months.
This is because of the backlash the movie received after its initial trailer release. Viewers were mainly complaining about how Sonic was animated and it looks like fans got their wish.

Sonic The Hedgehog was supposed to be released this November 2019 but has now been pushed to February 14, 2020. Which sets it up to be a perfect Valentine’s Movie.
After the backlash, Director Jeff Fowler made a Twitter announcement stating that the final movie version will take a little more time. He also included the hashtag #novfxartistswereharmedinthemakingofthismovie which sparked another outrage between fans. Fans questioned the idea of doing intense overhauls in such a short time.

Needless to say, it looks like the only changes the team will make is with regards to the animation of Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog Movie will still star Jim Carrey, James Marsden and Ben Schwartz (the Voice of Sonic).
Huge props to Jeff Fowler and the entire Sonic The Hedgehog team as they really listened to the opinions of their fans and is now trying to “fix” how Sonic looks.
But was the Sonic design really that broken to warrant an overhaul? The issue I have with the redesign is that people are going to complain about something anyway. Who’s to say that after 3 months people will accept the “new” Sonic design? They’d probably find other things to complain about too.
What do you guys think? is this a good move by the Sonic the Hedgehog team? Let us know what you think down in the comments section.
