Considering their decision to go on public, Spotify, has revealed that they are putting pressure on free users who use cracked versions of its mobile application to refrain them from enjoying privileges Premium users can.
Among 159 million active users, only 71 million of those are paid subscribers of Spotify Premium. It appears that some users only sign up for free accounts then download a modified Spotify installation file which enables them to enjoy premium service without having to pay for it.
Spotify has sent emails to accounts taking advantage of the modified software.

In the email, the music streaming giant asked the users to uninstall the detected modified app and simply re-install Spotify directly from Google Play Store.
“If we detect repeated use of unauthorized apps in violation of our terms, we reserve all rights, including suspending or terminating your account.” Spotify added.
