In an act that is best described as economic warfare against China’s claimed island, the Taiwanese government is accusing the Communist country of taking away its technology and engineers—and is, thus, contemplating to make legislations that will offset it.

Known as a powerhouse in the tech industry, Taiwan has a world-class reputation that sees its electronic products employed in almost everything and is a success that is presumed to be mimicked by its giant neighbor, whether through espionage or other covert means.

In response to the issue, four Taiwanese lawmakers are proposing to modify the commercial secrets law with the intent of expanding its scope and enforcing harsher sanctions should it be violated.

An issue that has been plaguing the small country’s national economic interest for years, the Cabinet has been hard at work at trying to address the problem since.
