It appears that Vivo is gearing up to launch a new smartphone in India. According to the teasers and leaked marketing materials, we’re looking at the new flagship called the Vivo V9.
A few days back, Vivo showcased their APEX smartphone concept at Mobile World Congress 2018. The prototype showed a retractable selfie camera which allows its notch-less all-screen display.
But the thing is, that is still an engineering sample and in the early stages of development before becoming a reality. But still, that didn’t stop the company to come up with a smartphone that has thinner bezels than the ones that they already have.
UPDATE: Vivo V9 Review Philippines
To be able to do that, the company will borrow the iPhone X’s infamous display notch. This is actually not that surprising considering the slew of Android manufacturers who have already done it.
With that said, the Vivo V9 has an appealing all-screen display, but with the annoying notch on top to accommodate the rumored 24-megapixel front camera and other sensors.
It is also expected to have a dual camera setup at the back and a price tag of INR25,000, which is around Php20,000 when converted directly to Philippine Peso. It is expected to arrive in India by March 27. Official launch in the Philippines is still unknown as of the moment.
