Figures show that the wearable market is growing and finally picking up pace in the market. Pushing more brands to come up with new smartwatches — including Xiaomi and its upcoming Xiaomi Watch Color.
The full specs list will be announced once the Xiaomi Watch Color gets officially unveiled on January 3, 2020. However, the company was generous enough to release a couple of teaser photos and video that reveals one of the most important components of a smartwatch — the design.
From what it looks like, the Watch will come with a circular design that really looks like an actual watch. Unlike the boxy design that most smartwatches have, including the most popular Apple Watch.
If you look closely, there are two buttons on the left side on the device. It also appears to be made of metal with interchangeable bands.
That’s what we know so far. But if we were to speculate, the Xiaomi Watch Color might have a couple of similarities to the Xiaomi Mi Watch that was unveiled just last month.
For one, it should use an AMOLED screen for ‘Always-On’ capabilities and better efficiency. Tons of health-centric features are also inevitable. From the heart-rate sensor, built-in GPS, and other workout-tracking capabilities.
The Xiaomi Watch Color should also run with Xiaomi’s own MIUI for Watch interface, creating a seamless experience with the MIUI for smartphones.
Of course, we expect their upcoming watch to be priced competitively. For a perspective, a rounded Android smartwatch like the Huawei Watch GT 2, which starts at only Php10,990.
