Apple-Intel-Chips

Apple plans to make a major shift.

According to a report by Bloomberg, Apple will source the modem chips of some variants of the iPhone 7 to Intel. Industry insiders pointed to the AT&T version and others from overseas markets will get to see the change.

Apple’s not dropping Qualcomm though. In fact, it will still retain the largest market share of China by sourcing the modem chips of the iPhone there.

The companies involved in the matter haven’t released any statements as of the moment.

Intel’s mobile business hasn’t been so successful in the past. They’ve struggled and acquired operating losses throughout their campaign, without much results. If this deal with Apple will push through, it’ll definitely put Intel in the right direction.
