Huawei is almost done making their upcoming midrange smartphone. Dubbed as the Huawei Nova 3, this new device will come with a familiar design but dated hardware.

As per the teaser that the company posted on Weibo, the Huawei Nova 3 has a similar design to the P20 Lite. It has a shiny, glass-like back. There’s also the fingerprint scanner on the middle and a pair of cameras on the far left side.

Speaking of the camera, a leak from TENAA website confirms that it will have AI prowess to improve its photography skills. You can see it conspicuously written below the camera hardware.

To be able to do that, the Huawei Nova 3 was rigged with the company’s own Kirin 710 processor. As the name suggest, it is an obvious competitor to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710. That’s the chipset seen on higher midrange devices like the Mi 8 SE and Vivo NEX A.

The chipset used is a clear indicator that it is superior to the Nova 3e — which is basically a rebranded P20 Lite.

Going back, the Kirin 710 will be partnered with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. The Nova 3 will also keep the notch, hence the 19:9 aspect ratio.

We’ll know more about this device once it gets launched in July. So stay tuned for that
