Nothing is stopping OPPO from releasing new Android smartphones one after another.
In a recent TENAA posting, a new line of OPPO handsets is preparing to make a debut. First off the line is the OPPO A83, which is probably a step-up above the A7 family. However, that’s not the case.
The OPPO A83 is actually a more affordable option so it’s more like the A5 series. It’s weird that a higher number is at the lower end of the market but it’s the company’s choice anyway.

It will feature a 5.7-inch HD+ (1440 x 720 pixel resolution) screen with 2GB of RAM and octa-core processor. Storage is limited to 16GB but it supports expansion using a micro SD card. The battery is just above the F5 with 3,090mAh battery.
Its footprint of 150.5 x 73.1 x 7.7mm is really small considering its size, thanks to its extremely thin bezels on the sides. On the software side, there’s Android 7.1.1 Nougat and ColorOS 3.2.
Like other OPPO handsets, it will come in the typical Gold and Black colors.
