The Galaxy Note 8 sparked Samsung’s entrance in the dual-camera field. After its release, the Galaxy J7+ immediately follow suit. And just recently, the rumored Galaxy S9+ is also expected to have the same camera configuration.
But with this leak, it looks like 2018 would be a year for dual cameras for Samsung. In a video posted by a YouTube user (which has been taken down), a device dubbed as the Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and A8+ (2018) were revealed in all its glory, complete with all the glamour cinematography you’d expect from a tech YouTuber.
According to the video, the new Galaxy A8 will have their dual-camera setup in front. It is said to be a 16-megapixel sensor with a f/1.9 lens and an extra 8-megapixel sensor with f/1.9 aperture. Meanwhile, at the back, they will be rocking a 16-megapixel camera with a much larger f/1.7 aperture.
The Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and A8+ (2018) will also have the identical glass and metal design like its older brothers. But this time, it looks like Samsung finally addressed the gripes we had on both the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8.
It appears that the dedicated Bixby button is now gone. And finally, the fingerprint scanner has been relocated below the camera, making it easily reachable. We can also expect this improvement on the rumored Galaxy S9 and S9+.
Moreover, their FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display screens will be of 5.5-inches and 6-inches, respectively. They are also powered by an Exynos 7885 octa-core processor, 4GB/6GB RAM, and 32/64GB of internal storage.
The IP68 waterproof rating is no surprise considering how flagship smartphones have taken advantage of this feature. The two will run under a 3000mAh and 3500mAh batteries.
Samsung’s next flagship was first rumored to be unveiled at CES in January. However, considering that the Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and A8+ (2018) are already popping out in other people’s hands, we might be able to see it first before the Galaxy S9.
