Rumor has it that the Sony Xperia Compact might make a comeback.
The craving for smaller smartphones was reignited when Apple introduced the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 mini. With that, it’s been reported that the Sony Xperia Compact, which was discontinued days ago, will make a comeback in 2021.
As per OnLeaks, the new Xperia Compact will have a 5.5-inch screen, so it’s no surprise that it’s slightly larger with dimensions of 140 x 68.9 x 8.9 mm, versus the 131.5 x 64.2 x 7.4 mm of the iPhone 12 mini.
Still, it could come with a flagship processor. The last Compact Sony phone we saw was the XZ2 Compact, which came with the same Snapdragon 845 chip that its regular brother had.
It will also have an 8-megapixel selfie camera with a teardrop notch, hinting that it will be a midrange release. We also have dual cameras on the back led by a 13-megapixel main shooter, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a headphone jack.
The release date for the Sony Xperia Compact 2021, or whether it truly exists, is yet to be revealed by the company.
