Xiaomi Mi 5C spotted in the wild.

A new set of images of a Xiaomi smartphone has been leaked. The Mi 5S and 5S Plus has been launched a couple of weeks back, and it seems like another model is just around the corner.

The handset is turned on with the home screen, home button, and 2.5D arc glass shown in all its glory. As it looks, it probably doubles as a fingerprint scanner. The back shows the rear camera and flash.

The about phone page reveals that it’s running on a MIUI 8 skinned Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. It also shows an octa-core processor but there’s no mention if it’s either Qualcomm or MediaTek. There’s 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

One thing to note about the images is rather odd old security updates dated 1st of December 2015. It’s either this is an old prototype unit of a Xiaomi phone, or this is fake.

But releasing a Mi 5C isn’t surprising move at this stage of the year. After all, the Mi 4C was launched in September last year.

We’ll wait and report more about the Mi 5C once we get more information.
