With Globe Telecom seeking to transition from 4G to 5G, the company is taking a step to expedite the process by offering upgrades to its users.

In a form of an SMS, Globe is informing its subscribers of the free upgrade which states:

“You’re a step closer to experiencing Globe’s leveled up 5G network! We’ve made your current Prepaid SIM 5G-ready.”

While many might be more than ecstatic in making a jump to the most advanced mobile internet to date, it’s worth mentioning that the upgrade requires a 5G-capable device.

As of writing, the telecommunications company’s 5G coverage includes the areas of Rockwell Center, Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Gen. Malvar in Ortigas, and Valero Street in Makati.

Initially announced exclusively for its Platinum subscribers earlier this year, Globe subsequently introduced 5G-ready smartphones, including the Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G, Huawei Nova 7 SE, Huawei P40 Pro, and Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra.

  1. Well for Globe kahit 6G pa yan. Yong LTE nga nila kailangan mo pang lumabas ng bahay at hagilapin ang signal nila or idikit mo sa bintana ang phone mo at huwag galawin. Take note sa Malolos, Bulacan lang yan ha. Come to think how much more in the far flung areas. Patawa si Globe… i mean hindi sila nakakatuwa.

  2. May I just remind the statement of President Duterte, His warnings to two Networks. It’s fast approaching. : ) ,

  3. Kahit 10G (lol) pa yang simcard na yan kung walang maayos na signal at kulang ang mga satellite towers, thats USELESS. #NETWORKTRAFFIC
