Are you rocking the fancy new Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra? Well, you may not know this but, your smartphone has one big feature that you haven’t experienced yet.

Technically, your Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra has a 5G connectivity feature. Albeit, Samsung disabled it out of the box, possibly due to the lack of 5G coverage in the country when it launched.

But now, we have an official word from Samsung Philippines that the local Galaxy S20 Ultra units will be finally getting the much-awaited 5G update.

As per the company’s marketing head, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G update will arrive alongside the new Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra sometime this August.

This is perfect timing since telcos like Smart Communications just made their Smart 5G services live last July 30. Albeit, as of writing, it’s only available in select number of locations.

But if you’re still deciding to get the Galaxy S20 Ultra, well, this might be the time. Other than being one of the few 5G smartphones in the Philippines, it’s also rare that we see smartphones with 12GB of RAM here in the country.

This device also has a large 6.9-inch QHD+ display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, Exyons 990 processor, quad rear cameras with a periscope lens, and an enormous 5,000mAh battery. It’s available nationwide for Php69,990. You can learn more about it in our review.
