In case you missed it, Globe officially launched its prepaid eSIM last month. Using an eSIM has its advantages, and Globe’s offering is reasonably priced. But be careful when you activate the eSIM though, as it can only be done once and is irreversible.
In other words, a Globe eSIM is locked into the first device it was activated on.
When you purchase a prepaid Globe eSIM from the GlobeOne app, you’ll receive an email containing the QR code to activate the eSIM. As shared by a user on Reddit, the email explicitly states that the QR code “can only be scanned/activated once,” and that the eSIM can be used on one device only. The email also contains general instructions on how to install or activate the eSIM on a supported device.

If you remove the eSIM from the device it was first activated on, you won’t be able to install it again according to the email. It’s very likely that Globe will implement at a later date the ability to transfer an installed eSIM to a different device. But until the company makes an announcement, subscribers are advised to ensure they activate the eSIM on the intended device.
Meanwhile, competitor Smart already supports eSIM transfers. Basically, all their prepaid users need to do is delete the eSIM from the old device and scan the QR code on the new one.
