The Honor Band 5 was just made official, and it now has this one big health feature.
Announced alongside the brand new Honor 9X and 9X Pro, the Honor Band 5 now comes with a SpO2 sensor that can track your blood oxygen levels. Its heart rate sensor was also upgraded to TruSeen 3.5 (from 3.0) for a more accurate reading.
The design and other features are pretty much identical to its predecessor. There’s the 0.95-inch vertical OLED screen that has a resolution of 240 x 120 pixels. The panel projects color just like the Mi Band 4, so you can choose between a lot of available wallpapers. It’s also 5ATM waterproof so you can go swimming with it
You can use the Band 5 to see notifications, answer/reject calls, find your device, and even as a wireless trigger for your smartphone camera. Honor also rigged it with NFC for mobile payments.
The Honor Band 5 has a smartphone app companion so you can track your workout and activity performances. Besides your exercises, the band can also track your sleep quality and duration.
Honor will be selling the Honor Band 5 in China starting July 29. The NFC model will retail for CNY220 (~Php1,600), but if you want something cheaper, you can get the non-NFC model for CNY190 (~Php1,400).
