The Xiaomi Mi Band series is one of the most popular wearables in the industry as it brought fitness tracking and smartwatch-like features to more market segments. Now, it’s getting a 2021 refresh with the new Mi Band 6.
With the Xiaomi Mi Band 6, we now have a smartphone-like 1.56-inch full-screen AMOLED touch panel. The smaller bezels resulted in 50% more screen real-estate. The display has a 486 x 152-pixel resolution, 326ppi, and a peak brightness of 450-nits.
The display is actually the main hardware here. Hence it’s protected by tempered glass with anti-fingerprint coating. It’s also 5ATM water-resistant if you want to go swimming with it.
As for the bands, the Mi Band 6 comes in Black, Orange, Yellow, Ivory, Olive, and Blue. You can easily swap them out depending on the day’s mood or outfit.
Another major addition here is the Spo2 blood oxygen saturation tracking. The heart-rate sensor can also do 24/7 monitoring. It then comes with a 125mAh battery that’s said to last for 14 days and charges via the same magnetic cradle that the Mi Band 5 has.
Being a fitness tracker, the Mi Band 6 has 30 workout modes, with 6 of them can be detected automatically: walking, cycling, treadmill, rowing machine, and elliptical. Female health tracking and stress monitoring are also present.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 6 has an official price of CNY230 (around Php1,700), while the NFC Edition is at CNY280 (around Php2,000). It will be initially available in China and Europe. It should launch in the Philippines in the coming weeks.
