After several months of waiting, users of MyPhone Rio, Rio Lite, Fun, and Agua Infinity can now join in the party and enjoy the Android Kitkat goodness. This is definitely good news for users of the said smartphone models who eagerly waited for this time to come. However, we have some bad news along with this announcement.
First, the update is not available OTA (Over-the-air) which means that you can’t download and update your phone as you please. According to MyPhone, this is because of ‘difficulties on downloading large files on the handsets’. Second, this also means that you are required go to a MyPhone service center for them to officially update your handset to Android 4.4 Kitkat. Lastly, the upgrade is NOT free. Yes, you need to pay Php200 for the update process as a ‘service fee’.
Knowledgeable Android users can do the update themselves with the help of MyPhone Android Users Facebook groups as well but it does come with risks. Also, doing so will likely void your warranty. If you’re new to this, it’s best to have your smartphone updated by the MyPhone staff.
If you want to update your Myphone android smartphone to Android Kitkat, check out this full list of MyPhone Service Centers in the country. Here’s the list of new features of the Android 4.4 Kitkat OS.

Samantalang free iyon. Tapos ito ay may bayad, ngek!
the downside: may bayad.. well ako n lang mag uupdate.. :D
