Cherry Mobile Life

Cherry Mobile just announced via their Facebook page their new budget phone, the Cherry Mobile LIFE. The announcement is unfortunately light on details, but we do know the following specs we got from a Cherry Mobile rep.

Cherry Mobile Life Specs

  • 4″ screen, but no word yet on the resolution and the type of screen (don’t count on it being AMOLED or anything special, though)
  • 1.3ghz dual core processor with Mali 400 GPU
  • 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage
  • 5MP back camera + 0.3MP front camera
  • HSPA+ support
  • Dual-SIM
  • GPS
  • FM Radio
  • Bluetooth v3.0
  • Android Jellybean 4.2

That’s a pretty awesome specs lineup, especially given its price point of a whopping PHP 2,999.00. It seems bent on toppling their own Flare series for bang-for-the-buck king. The price point price definitely pits it against the recently announced MyPhone Agua Rain 3G. Basing it on the specs above, the Cherry Mobile LIFE certainly trumps it not just in the screen size department but in other aspects as well, although the competition’s amusing anti-theft technology (really, who here hasn’t thought of activating it just for kicks? :-) ) is still a good draw.

Unfortunately, availability is also nowhere in sight, so we’ll have to wait for further announcements. Cherry Mobile really does know how to build up suspense and anticipation, do they? In fact, their Facebook announcement lacked certain details, such as the RAM and ROM. Even now, the announcement post is abuzz with speculations, indicating fervent anticipation from consumers. I don’t blame them. Personally, I’m curious to know how the phone would handle Jellybean with the modest RAM. Anyone excited on this baby?
