Gionee outs a product that’s probably their most elegantly-looking and sleekest device yet, the Gionee Gpad G5. We’re lucky to get a review unit to test for a full review. But before we head on to a more detailed look, let me tease you with our unboxing and first look of the device.
The box is very similar to other Gionee boxes I’ve seen from their other devices. A detailed look of the handset’s design is at the front, miniscule amount of branding logos at the sides, and the device’s specifications at the back
In front, we got the Gionee Gpad G5.
Digging in, we got a handful of accessories. The device comes with a microUSB cable, wall adaptor, 3.5mm in-ear headphones, user manual and warranty card. Also, Gionee have always been generous by including a free screen protector and a clear protective case.
Now, I can safely say that this device is really one of the company’s sleekest smartphone yet. The Gionee Gpad G5 may not be the thinnest of all, but at 7.9mm, the device hit the perfect spot by giving you a feeling that you’re holding a slim phone, but still having utmost ergonomics while it’s in your hands. One major problem I had with ultra-thin phones is that, like the Gionee Elife S5.5, the ergonomics is just too awfu – it slips easily to my hands – but this one, it just fits nicely and still leaves me the feeling that I’m holding a sexy device.
Gionee Gpad G5 Unboxing Video
The Gionee Gpad G5 feels incredibly light. This is due to its almost overall-plastic construction. The top and bottom part of the phone are made with metal coating. Despite being made primarily with plastic, the device still looks incredibly gorgeous. The display’s glass frame kind of extends on its sides. The buttons feels very tactile, which is also made with metal. And the 5.5″ HD IPS display together with the stereo speakers at the back can make this device an entertainment powerhouse.
