Meizu has announced two new notch-free smartphones, the Meizu V8 and Meizu V8 Pro.
Instead of going with the latest notch trend, Meizu decided to go against the flow by going back to the old 18:9 aspect ratio screens. There’s going to be two versions of the V8 — a standard and Pro model.
Both phones come with a 1440 x 720 pixel resolution display that can go as bright as 450 nits and feature 1,000:1 contrast ratio. Probably what sets them apart is their build quality, RAM, processor, and cameras.

From first look, the two devices actually looked similar to each other. It’s not until you get a feel of them that you’d notice that the V8 Pro is made of metal while the V8 is only using a polycarbonate body.
