motorola moto x4

Google’s Android One initiative is going back from the dead. And thanks to Motorola’s participation and the company’s own Project Fi wireless service, we now have another Android One device — the Motorola Moto X4

For a quick background Project Fi was established way back in 2015. It works like your traditional mobile network provider, but only better. One of the best features of Project Fi is its ability to switch between different networks to improve signal strength. Google has partnered with some networks in the US for it to work.

Project Fi will only work on smartphones that came directly from them. All of these devices are the ones from Google — from the Nexus 6 up to the Pixel XL. But that changes now thanks to the new Motorola Moto X4.

The Moto X4 packs some serious hardware but it still doesn’t breach its budget-friendly stance. It has a 5.2-inch FHD IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and it runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat, with 8.0 Oreo update coming by the end of 2017.

Moreover, it’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 octa-core processor, with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. It’s also rigged with WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, and a 3000mAh battery.

And to make things more interesting, it also has dual rear cameras at the back that can take wide-angle shots. There’s also a pretty chunky 16-megapixel selfie camera on the front. Motorola was also kind enough to add Turbo Power Charging, IP68-rated water and dust resistance and a stunning, contoured glass and metal build.
