ASUS has finally unveiled the official pricing information of the much-awaited gaming smartphone — the ROG Phone.
In an event held in China today, the Taiwanese company has launched the ASUS ROG Phone along with other products. First announced over three months ago, it was dubbed as the best gaming smartphone of its kind, bringing along tons of gaming accessories aside from top-tier specifications.
Since it’s a gaming smartphone, the ASUS ROG Phone doesn’t look like the average smartphone. Instead, it’s filled with red accents all over its black chassis together with the RGB-lit Republic of Gamers branding on the back. The vents are copper-colored as well which adds to the already flashy look.
ASUS ROG Phone official prices
- 8GB + 128GB — CNY 5,999 (~Php47,100 / USD 875)
- 8GB + 512GB — CNY 7,999 (~Php62,800 / USD 1,165)
- E-sports Armor Limited Edition — CNY 12,999 (~Php102,000 / USD 1895)
The ASUS ROG Phone has a 6-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen with an impressive 90Hz refresh rate and fast 1ms response time. However, not many mobile games support over 30 frames per second (fps) right now, so this feature won’t be fully utilized for a while.
On the inside, the ASUS ROG Phone is equipped with an overclocked 2.96GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 CPU paired with Adreno 630 GPU and 8GB of RAM. Storage options are limited to 128GB and a whopping 512GB.
To quickly top-up the battery, ASUS is including a Hyper Charger that provides 30W fast charge to the ROG Phone with Quick Charge 4.0. In case of overheating, there’s the company’s proprietary 3D vapor cooling chamber to keep its temperature in control.
We’ve been hearing rumors about the upcoming launch of the ASUS ROG Phone in the Philippines before the year ends, but no concrete details has surfaced as of the moment.
