After tons of leaks, rumors, and teasers, the OPPO F9 finally goes official. This immediate follow-up to the F-series brings a lot of refinements to the already impressive OPPO F7.
The highlight feature of the new OPPO F9 is its VOOC fast-charging capability. This is a feature that we were hoping to be included on the F7, but wasn’t able to make it. OPPO claims that a quick 5-minute charge can provide up to 2-hours of talk-time.
OPPO also did some design changes with the F9. The device now has a much thinner display notch, which OPPO is calling as the “water drop” screen. The display itself measures at 6.3-inches, with a resolution of FHD+ at 2280 x 1080 pixels.
The back of the device has this petal-shaped pattern that offers a striking look. And of course, it comes with a gradient color tone. The OPPO F9 will be available in Sunrise Red, Twilight Blue, and a Starry Purple.

Just like its predecessor, the OPPO F9 is powered by the trusty MediaTek Helio P60 processor. It’s then partnered with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
The F9 also inherits the pixel-packed 25-megapixel selfie camera that the F7 has. The 16-megapixel rear camera was also retained, but is now bundled with an extra 2-megapixel sensor for the Portrait Mode feature.
