Xiaomi brings another competitor to the saturated entry-level market as it launched the Redmi 10C in the Philippines.
The Redmi 10C comes with a couple of big numbers for a budget phone. For starters, it boasts an ultra-sharp 50-megapixel main camera, a rare find on smartphones at this price.
It also has an enormous 6.71-inch HD+ screen on the front with support for Netflix HD and Prime HD. On the back, we have a modern but clean design with a plasticky but textured material.
Like everyone else, it is rigged with an enormous 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
But still, it’s an entry-level device, so don’t be surprised to see a couple of compromises.
For starters, all of the pixels went to the primary camera as the secondary rear shooter is only a depth sensor, the front only has 5-megapixels, and it lacks an ultra-wide or macro lens.
Despite its enormous screen, it only has an HD+ resolution. Also, the included adapter only has a 10W capacity — you have to purchase an 18W charger separately to take full advantage of its charging speed capabilities.
Oh, and also, it only ships with the Android 11 operating system, but it should receive the latest Android 12 update in the future.
The Redmi 10C has a starting price of Php6,299 for the 4GB/64GB variant, while the 4GB/128GB model is at Php7,299. Starting April 22, it will be available on Xiaomi’s local store in Lazada and on the brand’s global store on both Lazada and Shopee.
