Looking for a reliable smartphone with extra high-end features, but don’t want to spend flagship money for it? Well, today’s comparison might help you see your options.
Today we have the Samsung Galaxy A70. This device is big in numbers as it tries to justify every last penny that you’d be paying for it. It’s definitely one of the best high midrange devices that Samsung currently makes.
On the other hand, we also have the Huawei Nova 5T. Just like Samsung’s offering, Huawei’s latest attempts to be the best option in its price category. Something that the company really needs considering the challenges they’re facing due to the US-China trade wars.
With that, our Samsung Galaxy A70 vs Huawei Nova 5T shall help you decide which between the two is right for you.

Well, I guess we have a clear winner here. As what you just saw, despite being the affordable option, the Huawei Nova 5T easily blows the Samsung Galaxy A70 out of the water.
The Nova 5T immediately steals the show thanks to its flagship Kirin 980 processor, the same chipset found on the more expensive P30 Pro.
On the other hand, the Galaxy A70 settles for a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 octa-core processor. It even has a 6GB of memory that’s relatively lower than the 8GB of RAM found on the former.
But to the Galaxy A70’s credit, it does give you an option to upgrade the storage by up to 512GB. Meanwhile, the Nova 5T lacks storage expansion.
Another reason to consider the Nova 5T than the Galaxy A70 is the cameras. This one comes with a 48-megapixel Sony IMX 586 primary camera, backed by a 16-megapixel ultra-wide shooter, and two 2-megapixel sensors for macro and depth-sensing.
That’s obviously more impressive than the 32-megapixel, 8-megapixel (ultra wide), and 5-megapixel (depth sensor) that the Galaxy A70 has.
If a flagship-level performance and killer cameras is your top priority — like what most people are — then the Huawei Nova 5T is definitely the one to pick.
As a bonus you’re saving more money, Php4,000 to be exact, as it’s only available for Php18,990. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A70 retails for Php22,990.
However, the Samsung Galaxy A70 is not so bad. There are actually a few things that this device offer better than the Nova 5T.
One of which is its gigantic and vibrant display. Samsung’s offering uses an enormous 6.7-inch Super AMOLED panel. Meanwhile, the competition has a smaller 6.26-inch screen and utilizes a standard IPS panel.

Also, the use of Super AMOLED allowed Samsung to use an in-display fingerprint scanner. Although Huawei was able to make up for it by side-mounting the physical sensor (also doubles as the lock/power switch) for a more cleaner look.
And since it has a bigger chassis, the Samsung Galaxy A70 has a 4,500mAh battery. That’s obviously higher than the 3,750mAh capacity on the latter. There’s also the faster 25W charging support (versus 22.5W) to compliment it.
Lastly, Samsung didn’t have up the headphone jack on this device. Unlike what they did on the Galaxy Note 10 series, and of course, Huawei on the Nova 5T.
If top-notch entertainment experience if what you’re after, then you can surely enjoy binge-watching on the Samsung Galaxy A70’s large display and battery.
But for everything else, there’s the Huawei Nova 5T for you.
