Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime has landed in the Philippines.

Samsung’s Galaxy Prime series is said to be making its way in the country soon. First off is the Galaxy J7 Prime, which was made official earlier today.

The Galaxy J7 Prime is a really good smartphone for its price. It’s powered by an Exynos 7870 chipset with 3GB of RAM and Mali-T830MP2 GPU. It’s running on Android 6.o.1 Marshmallow with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top. There’s only 16GB internal storage, but it’s expandable up to 256GB via a dedicated slot for microSD.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime has an aluminum design with rounded corners and soft edges. In addition, the fingerprint reader is embedded inside the home button just like Samsung’s flagships. In the camera department, it’s got a 13-megapixel rear shooter and 8-megapixel in front. Meanwhile, the 1080p 5.5-inch display is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection which makes it durable and scratch-resistant.

Previous releases from Samsung weren’t really competitive, but the J7 Prime changes all that. Now they’ve got a mighty competitor that can go head to head against popular affordable smartphone manufacturer ASUS. It’s gonna be a fierce battle versus the Zenfone 3. Despite the latter’s advantage in specs, Samsung’s reputation in the mobile market would still be key here. But the Korean giant’s troubles with the Galaxy Note 7 would probably pull them down a bit.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime will be available in Gold and Black colors. Pre-order starts today and it will be released on Samsung stores beginning October 29 for Php13,990. You can also buy it online at Lazada PH.
